Beginning his career as a bricklayer, Terry Zipsie has worked more than 20 years in the construction business as well as project management. He has extensive experience in all phases of the construction business; estimating, project managing, construction management, marketing, business administration, general management as well as business owner as listed on his résumé. In 1996, Terry started his first company, MTS Contracting, which has grown from three employees to 130 employees in 12 years. MTS is one of the largest restoration companies in the state of Missouri with an additional office in Springfield, MO. MTS has capabilities of exterior and interior waterproofing, tuck pointing, caulking, parking garage restoration, terra cotta replacement and other intricate concrete restoration.

 

In 2003, Terry took a 6-month sabbatical from MTS and offered his services as project manager over the construction of a new church. As the church was being built, Terry formed lasting relationships with the carpenters on the job. Although Terry was not a general contractor at the time, those carpenters enjoyed working for him so much that they encouraged him to start a new construction business. They wanted Terry to hire them as full-time employees, and that is how Zipco Contracting, Inc., was founded in 2004.

 

Over the last five years, Zipco has worked closely with county, city and other municipal project administrators in Kansas and Missouri. We have also been pursuing projects within the medical community, providing tenant finish for hospitals and medical offices.

 

We have created a team environment within the company that enables us to compete head-to-head with any of the mid-sized general contractors in the city. When it comes to integrity, client satisfaction, timeliness and staying within budget, we at Zipco feel that we are second-to-none!
